How to write services that get you called

Short, specific service lines beat clever ones. Here is a simple format that works for trades, salons and studios.

A service line has one job: let someone recognise their own problem in a second. The fastest way to get there is to write the thing, then the outcome.

A format that works

  • Air conditioning installation — cool rooms in a single visit.
  • Boiler servicing — annual checks that keep your warranty valid.
  • Bridal hair — trial included, early starts welcome.

Three quick rules

  • Use the words customers type into search, not your trade's internal terms.
  • Keep each line under twelve words so it reads on a phone.
  • List your most profitable service first — people read from the top.

You can edit any service line directly on your site after it is generated: turn on Edit text, click the line, and type.
