What a small business website actually needs
The seven things customers look for on a local business website, and what you can safely leave out.
Most people landing on a local business website want to answer three questions fast: do you do the thing I need, do you cover my area, and how do I reach you. Everything else is supporting material.
The seven essentials
- A headline that says what you do and where you do it.
- Your services, written in the words your customers actually use.
- The areas you cover, listed plainly.
- Real reviews with first names and locations.
- A phone number and email that are clickable on mobile.
- A map so people can see where you are based.
- One clear next step, repeated near the top and the bottom.
What you can leave out
Long company histories, stock photography of unrelated offices, and jargon nobody searches for. If a section does not help someone decide to call you, it is competing with the section that would.
How the builder handles it
When you fill in the questionnaire on the homepage, your business name, location, services, areas covered, phone number and email are used directly in the generated page — including the contact section and the announcement banner. Nothing is invented on your behalf.
